Lamberto Dini Joins International Advisory Panel

Mr. Lamberto Dini, former Prime Minister of Italy, will become an international advisor to the Praemium Imperiale from April 2005. Mr. Dini will succeed former Italian international advisor, Mr. Umberto Agnelli, Chairman of Fiat, who passed away in May 2004. He will chair Italian nomination committee and propose candidates for the annual awards from 2006.
Born in 1931 in Florence, Mr. Dini is currently Vice President of the Senate of the Italian Republic. He served as Prime Minister of Italy from 1995 to 1996 and Foreign Minister from 1996 to 2001. He was elected Member of Parliament in 1996 and has been Senator since 2001. Before going into politics, he held important posts at IMF and other international organizations.
